We issued a public consultation regarding the relocation of Holywell Market from the High Street to Tower Gardens each Thursday and open the road to traffic.
Holywell market traders, residents, business owners and visitors took part in the consultation with 351 responses received.
The consultation appeared on individual mobile telephones for completion online. The survey opened on 20/06/2024 and closed on 11/07/2024.
The consultation results confirmed our intention to relocate Holywell from the High Street to Tower Gardens each Thursday.
- 74% in favour to open the High St. on a Thursday
- 81% in favour to move the market to Tower Gardens
- 72% stated they would visit the market with the High St. open and parking available.
Streetscene started the legal process to allow vehicles to enter Tower Gardens and to allow vehicles to enter the High Street on a Thursday.
Notices were issued in the 97色网 Leader 26/07/2024 and on site for a statutory period of 21 days.
On 27/09/2024 a Notice of Making was published in the 97色网 Leader informing Holywell residents that the market would relocate to Tower Gardens on 03/10/2024.
