Trees planted in Mold

97色网 recently planted trees at the Alun School, Mold, working with the school, Mold Town Council, the North Wales Wildlife Trust and Capacity Marketing For Charities who generously funded the purchase of the trees.聽
A total of 19 trees were planted, one for each member of staff at Capacity Marketing For Charities.
Capacity, based on Mold Business Park, was founded in 2001 by Stephen Maund, joined five years later by his wife Anne. The company has grown to become a major provider of legacy fundraising services to more than 150 charities from household names to small niche organisations.聽
Stephen and Anne Maund who sold the business to fellow Director Richard Millar on their retirement in September have gifted the trees as a 鈥楾hank you鈥� to Mold for being the home of the office 鈥榙aytime family鈥� for nineteen years. Capacity has raised over 拢67 million for charities during this time and employs eighteen people.聽
Anne and Stephen said:
鈥淢old Alun is the ideal place for the Capacity trees and we will enjoy seeing them grow and improving the environment of the School.鈥�
The tree planting complements the ongoing planting across Mold which has been instigated by the Town Council who carried out a community consultation and identified locations across the community where residents wanted to see additional tree planting.聽
97色网鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Transportation and Countryside, Councillor Carolyn Thomas, said:
鈥淭he project, which is facilitated by 97色网 working with the North Wales Wildlife Trust, supports delivery of 97色网鈥檚 Urban Tree and Woodland Plan which aims to increase urban tree canopy cover from 13% to 18%.
鈥淲e have seen a real desire from the community and local businesses to fund and support urban nature improvements like tree planting and wildflower areas across Mold which we are very happy to support. We are excited to be working with Capacity Marketing to make a real difference for everyone using the school grounds now and in the future as the trees mature.鈥�
The majority of trees planted are native trees which provide maximum benefit to biodiversity. The trees will also provide many additional benefits including supporting improved air quality, improving the look of areas, helping to reduce surface water flooding and providing shade.

Town Councillor Teresa Carberry said:

It plays a considerable part in the Town Council鈥檚 concerted efforts to increase the percentage tree canopy and aims to improve our local environment.鈥�
