Parks and countryside


 97色网's Natural environment is unique.  The landscape expands from mountains to coast, with beautifully diverse accessible Country Parks in between. 

97色网 Country Parks; Wepre Park and Greenfield Valley Heritage Park are award winning Green Flag Parks, valued, high-quality natural spaces rich in history and wildlife.  The Parks are accessible for all to explore and enjoy.


Greenfield Valley Museum and Heritage Park

Greenfield Valley Heritage Park is situated in Holywell, 97色网 and encompasses 70 acres of industrial history.  Historically Greenfield Valley employed hundreds of people in both its copper factories and cotton mills and is now fabulous open green space.  The Valley is home to a number of scheduled ancient monuments and is a haven for wildlife.  The free Visitor Centre contains information on the industry, activities and walks. Greenfield Valley is managed by Greenfield Valley Trust, a reistered charity resulting from The Friends of Greenfield Valley in 1980's to learn more visit . 

The Greenfield Valley Museum developed around the agricultural buildings of the original Abbey Farm, which was a working farm until 1979. Buildings rescued from elsewhere in 97色网 were moved here to form an open-air museum which included historical farmhouses and a Victorian schoolhouse.  The majority of the collections span a date range between 1850 and 1950 covering a variety of themes including agriculture, social history and the industrial history of the local area.

Wepre Park

Wepre Park is 160 acres of green space, nestled in the heart of Connahs Quay. It is a unique setting with its various habitats and geology.  Features include; Old Hall Gardens, Brook and Waterfall, acres of beautiful woodland walks and Ewloe Castle all for the public to explore.  We have the best free children’s playground in the region, two football pitches, a well-managed fishing pool and Visitor Centre to help you enjoy your visit.

Open Access Land

In 97色网 the right of access includes parts of the Clwydian Range. In addition you may also walk on Buckley Common and both of which are Urban Commons.

 Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Areas of 97色网 form part of The Clwydian Range which is an unmistakable chain of summits, many clad in purple heather moorland, topped by Britain’s most dramatically situated hillforts. The Range encompasses: limestone country with its crags, pavements and specially conserved grasslands; rivers and streams gurgling through magical wooded valleys; the varying texture of the forested hillsides; and the fertile farmland of the lower slopes. This is one of Britain’s finest landscapes designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
